The Watershed incorporates the industrial history of Subiaco and its contemporary lifestyle. The building functions both as an artwork and as an aeration system for the parks reticulation.
The artwork is built from materials that were part of a large foundry located on the exact site where the Watershed has been placed. The factory chimney structures are original, only repainted and repositioned.
The name of the artwork derives from water cascading down the sides of the building, a fountain that creates walls of water.
